Flexible Spending Accounts

This means the amount of income employees taxes are based on will be lower which in turn lowers their tax liability. Caterpillar offers 3 types of FSAs administered by UnitedHealthcare (UHC):

  • A Health Care Spending Account allows employees to use pre-tax dollars to pay for many of the health care expenses not covered by medical, dental and vision plans, including deductibles and co-payments.
  • A Dependent Care Spending Account allows employees to use pre-tax funds to pay for eligible daycare expenses
  • A Limited Purpose Health Care Account allows employees to use pre-tax dollars to pay for vision and dental expenses only for the employee and eligible dependents
