In order to provide you with appropriate and timely information about your project application, Solar Turbines is organized into two customer-facing organizations.

The oil and gas organization will provide project support with downstream applications involving the extraction, production, transportation, and/or processing of oil and natural gas, as well as upstream applications, like offshore platform power.  Typical oil and gas applications would include:

  • Gas transmission
  • Storage and withdrawl 
  • Water/Steam flooding
  • Gas gathering
  • Gas lift
  • Field pressure maintenance
  • Air, process, and refrigeration applications


Applications involving electric power generation for industrial or commercial processes. They typically fall into one of three categories:

  • Combined heat and power (CHP) applications
    • Cogeneration
    • Combined cycle
    • District heating
  • Peak/Demand load power
  • Base load electrical power
  • Standby/Emergency power 
  • Distributed power
